You've got to stop calling HR to report complaints. They want you to call them. They want you to talk to them in person.
They say it's because they want to have a personal connection, but that is bogus. They're doing this because they don't want a paper trail of your complaint. Because if you get illegally fired or things get worse and you sue, they can come back and say well, you never told us about the problem.
That is why all complaints to HR should be in writing. And if you do a call, always follow up with a recap email. This establishes a paper trail and it makes it much harder for them to lie.
